NOTICE: This FAQ document was updated on 01/28/23 by a group of community members that included representation from women’s, black, People of Color, immigrant, trans, queer, survivor, disabled, genderqueer, and non-binary communities. While updates were made, and rules and guidelines made more explicit and clear, nothing about the gender policy was changed. 

 

  • Accessibility
    • There is one step up into the house, and two steps down into the Dungeon 
    • Outside access is twelve steps, with a railing 
    • ASL interpreter for Workshop available upon 72 hour request.  
    • Service Animals are welcome in accordance with ADA guidelines 
  •  Tolerance
    • Racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia, fat shaming, body shaming, etc. will NOT be tolerated. 
    • This event aims to lift the voices of those who are women, womxn, femmes, survivors, black, People of Color, queer, trans, and disabled. 
  •  Consent
      1. All participants are expected to abide by the guidelines set forth in order to foster and maintain an environment that is safe for all. It is imperative that everyone in attendance at RAVAGE commit themselves to these guidelines in order to keep the open no-bars edge play intact that many RAVAGE participants engage in.
      2. For clarification, there are different types of Consent Violations such as:
        1. – Consent Accidents — These can occur because of error, miscommunication, misunderstanding, or not having all the information
        2. -Consent Violations — When someone knowingly and willfully chooses to ignore or cross someone’s limits and boundaries
      3. We categorically endorse only Risk Aware Consensual Kink (RACK) at our event and in our community. We denounce unwanted advances, undesired contact, and predatory behavior of any kind. In addition, we espouse the values of Radical Self Care and Vocal Self Advocacy.
      4. We strive to make RAVAGE a safe and nourishing play party while allowing most consensual play, even when extreme. If/when a crisis arises on-site, we will have First-Aid available to attend to the situation. We are committed to this process and will continue to make improvements so that those goals are realized.
      5. All play MUST be consensual. Period. Consent violations will NOT be tolerated at RAVAGE. The flagrant disregard for boundaries that have been previously and mutually agreed upon by parties, may include expulsion from the event if deemed necessary as a solution to the incident. CLEARLY ARTICULATE AND NEGOTIATE ALL OF YOUR WISHES, LIMITS, AND BOUNDARIES–EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU PLAY, WITH EVERYONE WHO IS INVOLVED IN THE SCENE. 
      6. Safe-words. USE THEM. RESPECT THEM. The RAVAGE community safe-words to be used for the party are: 
        1. Green – All is Well
        2. Yellow – Caution, back up, and check in
        3. Red – Stop now, the scene is OVER! No re-negotiating the scene
  • EVENT DESCRIPTION: 
    • Women and Genderqueer BDSM Play Party is limited to around 60 attendees. PLEASE get your tickets early if you don’t want to miss out! This is an amazing, high-energy play party for adult Women and Genderqueer Folx.  No Cis or Binary Trans Men. 
    • The demonstration begins at 7:15 p.m. Promptly and ends at 7:45, followed by a circle of introduction (names and pronouns) then PLAY! You MUST arrive by 10:00 p.m.
  • Can I only attend if I look like a stereotypical female?
    • No, all gender presentations may be in attendance and are welcome. This includes, butch/femme, dyke, masculine of center, boi, Daddy, etc.
  • Can I still attend if I am straight? 
    • Yes, all sexual orientations are welcome.
  • Persons not welcome:
    • Cis Men
    • Binary Trans Men
  • Will I see penises at this event?
    • You may see a variety of sex, bodies and genitalia at this event. Please remember that people’s anatomy does not define their gender.
  • Will there be sex at this party?
    • There is often sex as well as many other types of play occurring.  So please be aware that you may see a variety of genitalia and EXTREME play.  If you see something that triggers you, please practice RADICAL SELF CARE and remove yourself from the room or seek support/assistance.  Remember that your experience is valid, but so is theirs.  Feel free to come to the Hosts if you need to talk! 
  • What should I bring?
    • Please bring with you any items and supplies you’ll need to help you enjoy the evening better such as toys, pee pads (if needed for any fluid play), condoms, lubricant, etc.
    • We supply large equipment and cleaning supplies. 
    • Nibbles/Soft Drinks/Water are also provided after the demonstration. We recommend eating dinner before attending this event. Tips and refreshment donations are accepted and greatly appreciated.
  • The following are prohibited at this event:
    1. Whips longer than five feet except in designated areas.
    2. Scat and piss play
    3. Guns, firearms or explosives (real or simulated).
    4. Concealed weapons of any kind.
    5. Play in the bathroom
    6. Nudity/play in the living room/kitchen area
  • I’m new to this stuff! Should I attend this event? 
    • Yes! This is a social event and play party. Attendees to this event may engage in BDSM play (Bondage, Discipline, Dominance, Submission, Sadism, Masochism). All activities are consensual and we work particularly hard to foster a safe space for people to come and explore their interests and desires in BDSM, Leather, kink and everything in between. 
    • All levels of play and experience welcome; you will encounter a full spectrum of players, from vanilla to extreme. 
    • If you are unfamiliar or new to BDSM, but interested in learning more, again please email ravagebydesire@gmail.com to ask any specific questions. You may also come to the event simply to watch, observe and socialize with people in the community. There is no pressure to participate and there are social areas that are separate from the play spaces. There is always a demonstration at the beginning of each event. Afterwards we circle up for introductions so everyone knows who is there for what. We have held these events in San Diego since 2002. They are held in a private location.
  • What does my ticket include? 
    • A smoking hot demonstration to kick the night off!
    • The opportunity to try out different types of play
    • Fully equipped indoor dungeon
    • Light snack and beverages provided – please eat dinner beforehand.
    • Cozy spaces to chat and socialize
  • Refunds
    • Tickets are non-refundable 
    • You may transfer your ticket to another person at any time up to 5:00 PM the day of the party.
  • Other Notes:
    • You must be at least 18 years old to attend this event. 
    • This is an alcohol/drug-free event. Any indication of impairment and you will be asked to leave with no refund.
    • This is a private party. You must register, pre-pay and be on the will-call list with your legal name to attend. 
    • Legal Name is required as you are signing legal forms but will only be seen by the door person who is staff and the hosts.  We will never say your legal name out loud or share that information with anyone.  
    • NOTE: You must show your government issued ID at the door that matches the legal name you signed up with. 
    • Upon receipt of payment you will be e-mailed a confirmation from EventBrite. Please look for it. 
    • About 4 days before the event, you will be sent a reminder email with the address and asking for you to confirm your legal name.  
    • All net proceeds from this specific event directly benefit the DESIRE Scholarship fund. https://desireleather.org/  
  • Where is the event location/my will call confirmation? 
    • At a private home in 92114
  • Dress code 
    • Leather, fetish, high-femme, butch, military, black, etc. Come as you desire. Please be street legal and quiet outside of the Dungeon.
  • Where can I stay?
    • There are many hotels in Hotel Circle or downtown San Diego which is about a 15-20-minute drive.

 

WAIVER

AGREEMENT AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

Voluntary Participation

I am freely and voluntarily choosing to attend and participate in this event and to view and participate in activities that I know are adult oriented and sexually explicit and involve acts of domination, submission, bondage, discipline, sadism, masochism, and other explicit and extreme sexual and non-sexual acts including, but not limited to, spanking, paddling whipping, waxing, piercing, cutting, fire play, knife play, edge play, blood play, bondage, and suspension, vaginal and anal contact.  I understand that I may come in contact with the bodily fluids of others, either intentionally or unintentionally or accidentally, and I understand the risks associated with such contact.  I understand that this contact and these activities involve significant risks including the risk of serious illness and injury and that these risks arise from the nature of the activities themselves as well as from the possible negligent, reckless or intentional conduct of the participants and attendees.

 

Release of Liability

As consideration for being permitted to enter this event, and to view and participate in these activities, and to use the facilities and equipment being provided, I agree that neither I nor anyone through me or on my behalf will make any claim against, sue, or attach the property of The Carousel, Safeword, the Owners or residents of the property, and/or event hosts and volunteers, RAVAGE, DESIRE, and Bikkja Productions, (collectively called Owners) or anyone affiliated with above , including, but not limited to, its owners, officers, directors, members, agents, employees, volunteers, monitors, promoters, sponsors and contractors, and including, but not limited to, the owners, lessors or suppliers of the premises, and the owners, lessors or suppliers of any equipment used in connection with the event, for any injury, damage or loss suffered by me including being subjected to scandal accusations, ridicule, reproach, scorn, or indignity at any time during my presence on the premises or at the event or as a result of my presence at or participation in any activities at the event.  I hereby release, waive and forever discharge them, their heirs, administrators, executors, affiliates, and assigns, from any and all actions, claims, obligations, and demands that I, my assignees, heirs, distributees, guardians, and legal representatives now have or may hereafter have for any injury, illness, or damage, arising from or in any way related to my attendance at or participation in this event or these activities.

 

Indemnity and Hold Harmless the Owners and those individuals and entities described above from any loss, liability, injury, damage or cost that may occur, or that they may incur, as a result of my presence at or my participation in the event or arising from my actions at or in connection with the event, whether caused by my negligence, recklessness, willfulness, or otherwise. I understand that this document remains valid even if participating in this event subjects me to scandal, ridicule, reproach, scorn, or indignity.   

 

Assumption of Risk

I AM AWARE THAT THESE ACTIVITIES ARE CONSIDERED EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS.  I AM VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATING IN THESE ACTIVITIES WITH FULL KNOWLEDGE OF THE DANGERS AND RISKS INVOLVED AND I ACCEPT AND I ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY AND ALL RISKS OF PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY AND ILLNESS, AND DEATH.  

Play Party Dungeon Rules

The decisions of the hosts, their appointed representatives, and/or The Carousel, Safeword, Bikkja Productions, DESIRE, Owners of Property, and  Staff members are FINAL. Any person(s) not responding to instructions given by any of these people shall be removed from the premises. 

-Abide by Risk Aware Consensual Kink BEHAVIOR AT ALL TIMES!

-No illegal substances may be consumed or permitted on the premises. This includes the use of “poppers.” If a host, appointed representative or staff member deems that a person is under the influence, they will be removed from the premises and not allowed to return.

-No intrusive odors, such as sage, incense or heavy cologne, are allowed.

-You are responsible for cleanup of your play area. Please use a tarp or drop cloth if necessary. Leave a safe and clean space for the next guest. Cleaning supplies and disposal units are provided.  Please dispose of biohazard and sharp implements in appropriate containers. If you do not know how to properly clean and/or properly dispose of used implements, it is your responsibility to ask for assistance from a host or Owners of Property or  staff member.

-Respect others and their property. Do not interrupt or enter a scene without permission. 

-Remember, NO means NO. Do not touch people or things without express permission to do so.

-Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the building. Smoking is allowed outside only.

-Offering, agreeing to perform, or performing any act of prostitution or solicitation of prostitution is strictly forbidden. If approached for these purposes, report this immediately to a host.

-The use of cell phones, cameras, video equipment, or ANY recording device is prohibited in any play space.  

-Audible pagers, cell phones, and wrist watches with audible chimes must be set to silent or turned off.

-The following are prohibited from this event:

Whips longer than five feet unless in designated space. 

Scat and piss play

Guns, firearms or explosives (real or simulated).

Concealed weapons of any kind.

Play in the bathroom

Nudity in the hallways

Alcohol and Illegal drugs.

 

-You are responsible for fully negotiating your scenes.The use of safe words or signals is required. If you do not have your own, may we suggest:

Green – All is Well

Yellow – Caution, back up, and check in

Red – Stop now, the scene is OVER! 

 

-If you break any of the above stated rules, if you are suspected of suspicious illegal conduct within the property (stated or not on this form) or if you are acting in a manner that jeopardizes the safety of other attendees (including not respecting safe words and or not respecting other scenes), you will be told to leave the premises and will not be allowed reentry. 

-You must ask for permission to use any toys that are RAVAGEs, Bikkja Productions, or DESIRE and Owners of Property.  This includes, but is not limited to, anything on the walls or shelves.

-In the event that a piece of equipment supplied by RAVAGEs, Bikkja Productions, or DESIRE and Owners of Property is damaged or broken either through your actions or in-actions, you are responsible for that damage, and may be asked to pay for part or all of the costs to repair or replace the damaged equipment.  

 

Knowing and Voluntary Execution

I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THESE DOCUMENT(S) AND I warrant that I FULLY UNDERSTAND THERE CONTENTS meaning.  I hereby testify that I sign this document without undue influence or pressure and agree to abide by and allow what this document states. I hereby testify that I will verbally and/or physically refuse activities with which I am not fully comfortable and wanting to perform. I agree to accept full responsibility for all of my actions and the consequences of them, even in the circumstance that I engage in activities that may affect my thinking and judgment.I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND AN ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND A CONTRACT OF INDEMNITY BETWEEN ME  and The Owners AND THAT I AM GIVING UP MANY LEGAL RIGHTS AND REMEDIES BY SIGNING IT and/or checking the box in agreement and registering for a ticket.
